Kozhikode Agri Farm Tourism Project Expands
Kozhikode’s agri-farm tourism is expanding as the district pushes farm-based experiences that can add income for farmers and attract visitors. Recent reports show the district already has a farm tourism circuit, and a pilot project in five grama panchayats under Koduvally block is being developed to support upland farmers. The Kozhikode district panchayat and DTPC have promoted a dedicated farm tourism circuit, described as the first such district-specific project in Kerala. The pilot under Koduvally block covers Koodaranhi, Kodenchery, Puthuppadi, Omasseri, and Thiruvambadi grama panchayats. The project is expected to create extra revenue for struggling farmers by linking agriculture with tourism. It also gives visitors a chance to experience farm life, rural scenery, and local agricultural practices, which can make Kozhikode’s upland areas more visible as travel destinations.Kerala’s wider agri-tourism push includes setting up farm tourism units and homestay farms while keeping farming practices intact. In Kozhikode, that means the project is not just about tourism, but about building a new income stream around farming communities.A headline-style version could be: “Kozhikode’s agri-farm tourism project expands to support farmers and rural tourism”.
