A woman from West Bengal named Minoti Sardar was arrested at the Kozhikode railway station with 19 kg of suspected ganja found aboard the Chennai–Mangaluru Express.police seized 16 kg of ganja from a woman at Kozhikode railway station and arrested her in the case. The seizure was made jointly by the Railway Police and DANSAF, and police said the ganja was allegedly brought from the Andhra Pradesh border for distribution in Kozhikode.
The arrested woman was identified as Minoti Sardar, a native of North 24 Parganas in West Bengal.
Police also said this was the second major ganja seizure at Kozhikode railway station in the past two weeks, with 18 kg seized in the earlier case.
This case points to Kozhikode railway station being used as a transit point for narcotics movement into the city. The report suggests police are tracking supply routes and distribution networks, not just the immediate carrier.
